Case Management

When you experience challenges related to your academic life, personal life, or mental well-being that require support from multiple resources or campus offices, your Department Case Manager (Counseling Psychologist) will work with you to identify your needs, connect you with appropriate campus and community resources, and provide ongoing coordination and follow-up to ensure you receive the support that best meets your needs.

Our Center operates a Department-Based Case Management System, in which each academic department is assigned a Department Case Manager (Counseling Psychologist). Your Department Case Manager can help you understand and access available campus and community resources. If individual counseling would be beneficial, your Department Case Manager will assist you in arranging a referral to an Individual Counselor.

As a result, you may work with both a Department Case Manager and an Individual Counselor. Your Department Case Manager focuses on resource coordination, collaboration with relevant campus offices, and ongoing follow-up, while your Individual Counselor works with you through confidential counseling sessions to help you explore yourself, process your emotions, and cope with life's challenges. Although their roles are different, the two counseling psychologists work collaboratively to support your academic success, well-being, and overall university experience.

Whether case management is appropriate will be discussed jointly by you and your counseling psychologist based on your individual needs. The goal of case management is to provide comprehensive support through effective resource coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration, helping you thrive academically, maintain a healthy and balanced university life, and realize your full potential.
